At the age of 16, Perspective founder Rupert ran a business with his mum Angela renting out Nerf guns for children’s parties. He began using them with friends to make videos for his YouTube channel, which took off, reaching millions of people worldwide and from that point, Rupert was hooked on making films.
After beginning his career in marketing, Rupert followed his other passion and went on to make documentary films. One year, he travelled 3000 miles across America on a longboard with a film team capturing the entire journey. The following year it was India, a cross-country hitchhike resulting in a 52 minute branded documentary for a drinks brand.
The day after arriving back from Thiruvananthapuram, Perspective Pictures officially started trading. With a team of two people, following the hire of Oliver Spain, they began working from a shed in the garden with only £50 in a business bank account. Things progressed pretty quickly and within 6 months they had moved to London. A year and a half and four offices later Perspective Pictures is now a team of 10 people based in Islington.
Perspective Pictures exists to make the most memorable, attention-worthy and innovative videos. We do this by developing branded content with careful consideration of the relevant digital platform, whether it is YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or whatever global platform is next. We also do this by simply understanding how audiences want to consume content. That’s all.
It isn’t exactly rocket science, just a smidgen of common sense,
a bit of fun, and lots and lots of drive and vision.
