🏎️ The Brief

We set out to create Driven Dreams, a four-part documentary series following the highs and lows of the UK’s biggest child-only karting championship.The series explores the sacrifices, hopes, and challenges faced by young drivers with big dreams and a slim chance of making it to Formula One.

Today, the series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, where it continues to resonate with racing fans and families alike.

🎬 Pre-Production

Filmed over the course of a full karting season, the production required meticulous planning and adaptability. Our team had to embed within the championship schedule, working around live race events, unpredictable weather, and strict time constraints.

📋 Coordinated with the Kart Championship team to gain access to tracks across the UK
🎥 Developed a lightweight and mobile production model to keep pace with race conditions
🎤 Conducted interviews at the beginning and end of the season to anchor the narrative
🧠 Structured the story to combine high-speed action with emotional depth and human connection

🔥 The Shoot

The documentary was filmed over 12 months, following the drivers through triumphs, setbacks, and every race in between. We used a combination of cinema cameras, action cameras, and

FPV drones to capture the drama both on and off the track.

🏁 Mounted cameras directly onto karts and pit zones for immersive, in-the-moment visuals
🚁 FPV drones added speed and intensity to race coverage
🎤 Captured parents’ and commentators’ reactions to highlight the emotional heartbeat of each event
🎬 Managed filming in every condition – from freezing rain to blazing heat – while keeping the atmosphere fun and supportive for the kids.
