🌱 The Brief
In 2019, Earthed came to us with an ambitious vision.
Could we help them create a large-scale library of educational content to teach people how to regenerate land, repurpose resources, and care for the planet and its people?
The goal was to build dozens of long-form learning courses for their subscription platform, each led by world-class practitioners working at the cutting edge of regenerative thinking.
🎬 The Pilot
Every project needs a starting point.
We began by developing a baseline format that could scale globally while remaining accessible and authentic.
Our first course featured Charles Dowding, the pioneering no-dig gardener based in Somerset, England.
📍 Filmed on a bright May day
🎥 Crew of four
🌿 Shot entirely on location in Charles’ garden
This pilot episode set the creative and technical foundation for everything that followed, combining clear educational storytelling with calm, observational filmmaking.
🌍 Scaling the Platform
Over the next four years, the project evolved into a truly global production effort.
Together with Earthed, we have now created over 40 full courses, filmed across 30 different countries, spanning nearly every continent.
📋 Along the way, we:
- Refined and evolved the core filming format
- Developed briefing frameworks for course teachers
- Built a global network of trusted local videographers
- Balanced production quality with budget efficiency
- Captured content in remote and challenging locations
- Ensured consistency across vastly different environments
Using local freelancers allowed us to reduce travel impact, support local creatives, and capture authentic perspectives from each region.
🎞️ The Filmmaking Approach
The creative philosophy stayed consistent throughout.
🎥 Calm, observational cinematography
🎧 Clear, clean audio to prioritise learning
🎨 Natural colour grading that respected each environment
📚 Simple, repeatable structures to support educational clarity
As the platform grew, so did the sophistication of the production process, while always keeping the focus on accessibility and impact rather than flash.
⚡ The Result
A global library of regenerative knowledge, created collaboratively over four years. More than 40 courses, filmed in 30 countries, featuring some of the most respected voices in sustainability, food systems, land care, and community-led regeneration.
It has been a long-term creative partnership we are proud of.
