🎲 The Brief
Big Potato Games approached us to create a fun, high-energy video for their hit party game Herd Mentality – part advert, part instructional film.The aim was to make something that would clearly explain the rules while staying true to the brand’s playful, tongue-in-cheek personality.
Our concept? Put the game’s “herd” theme front and centre – literally.
🎬 Pre-Production
We developed a concept that turned a simple instructional video into a full comedic sketch.
📋 Cast our own finance manager as a posh farmer-type host to explain the rules (he LOVED it)
🎥 Found and dressed a real barn location, complete with hay bales and live cows
💡 Storyboarded a simple, direct shoot designed for clarity and humour
🎨 Created minimal text graphics and light motion moments to underline key rules
The creative approach was all about entertainment first, letting the explanation feel secondary – engaging audiences before they even realised they were learning how to play.

Filmed in a single day, the production captured all the charm and chaos of cows and comedy.
🎥 Two-camera setup using RED cinema cameras for crisp, cinematic quality
💡 Soft, warm lighting to enhance the natural look of the barn
🎭 High-energy performance straight to camera, with plenty of unscripted moments as the cows nudged, licked, and interrupted our “farmer”
🐄 Used the environment and live reactions to make the video feel spontaneous and authentic
Despite the simplicity of the setup, the shoot delivered tons of personality – perfectly reflecting Big Potato’s lighthearted brand tone.
