🎮 The Brief

Red Bull Gaming partnered with Valorant to create a crossover moment between esports and Formula One. The concept: Yuki Tsunoda, F1 driver for Red Bull Racing, goes head-to-head with Tarek, a professional Valorant player, to test who has the faster reaction times.

Our task was to design, film, and produce a cinematic, YouTube-native showdown that lived on Red Bull’s Gaming channel – while promoting Valorant’s sponsorship of Yuki’s F1 helmet.

🎬 Pre-Production

We spent the lead-up engineering a series of reaction-based challenges that would fairly test both driver and gamer. The goal was to make the video feel both entertaining and authentic to their respective worlds.

📋 Developed challenge concepts and built custom setups for each round
🎮 Integrated gaming capture directly from two PlayStation 5s using dual capture cards
🎥 Designed the shoot for YouTube storytelling — quick pacing, banter, and cinematic depth
🧠 Collaborated closely with Red Bull Racing and Valorant’s teams to align brand messaging and tone

🔥 The Shoot

Filmed at Red Bull’s F1 HQ in Milton Keynes, inside their state-of-the-art gaming sphere area. We had just one day with Yuki and Tarek, so timing and setup efficiency were everything.

🎥 Captured cinematic visuals on RED cameras for a polished, high-end look
🎮 Recorded live gameplay feeds directly from both PS5 consoles
🎤 Built moments of chemistry and humour between Yuki and Tarek to drive audience engagement

Each challenge ramped up in intensity, leading to the final showdown – a full Valorant match between the two.

📸 The Filmmaking

We leaned into a mix of cinematic storytelling and gaming culture energy.

🚀 RED cinema cameras for dramatic lighting and slow-motion reveals
🎮 Live gameplay overlays and HUD-style graphics to immerse viewers
🎞️ Split-screen edits to blend real-world reactions with in-game tension
💡 Graphics and motion design layered throughout to tie the worlds of F1 and gaming together

The end result felt premium but still playful, hitting that perfect Red Bull tone.

⚡ The Result

A high-octane crossover between esports and Formula One that brought two elite worlds together. 250k+ organic views on the Red Bull Gaming YouTube channel. A collaboration that showcased how reaction, precision, and performance unite both driver and gamer.

Cinematic, entertaining, and built perfectly for digital – this one hit the sweet spot between competition and culture.
