Three cities. Four crew. One bold vision.
A global campaign to position Kazakhstan as a leading destination for investment — filmed across deserts, cities, wind farms, ports, and peaks.
The Brief
We were approached by the team at Topham Guerin to join them in creating a global ad campaign for the Government of Kazakhstan, aimed at attracting foreign investment into the country.
The brief was ambitious:
🎯 Capture the scale, innovation, and spirit of Kazakhstan – across three major cities, multiple industries, and dozens of locations – and turn it into a high-energy, cinematic ad campaign.
Oh, and make sure it feels bold – because this was all part of Kazakhstan’s new “Born Bold” campaign celebrating the courage and vision of its people.
The Approach
We sent a micro-crew of four: a director, two videographers, and a producer – to work fast, efficiently, and adapt to Kazakhstan’s diverse and sometimes extreme environments.
Filming across Astana, Almaty, and Aktau, we covered everything from:
🏜️ Deserts and wind farms
🏙️ Tech hubs and cityscapes
🛳️ A remote shipping port on the Caspian Sea
🧗 A mountain climbing wall and sheer cliff face
🐎 A horse galloping through closed city streets
We also collaborated with local freelancers and drone operators, and featured some of Kazakhstan’s most well-known personalities — from business leaders and artists to world-renowned athletes including a champion cyclist and professional climber.
The film leaned heavily into bold visual transitions, dynamic editing, and a sound design-led style. One standout moment: a ballet dancer mid-leap transitions seamlessly into a cyclist powering forward – a metaphor for elegance meeting ambition.
The Result
The final edit was a cinematic love letter to Kazakhstan’s scale, ambition, and spirit – and a bold invitation to the world to take notice.
