Wevee, a competitively priced electric car leasing company (try saying that three times really fast!), came to us needing a 2-3 minute explainer video to go with their Seedrs crowdfunding campaign.

Their view is that “shopping for an EV, kinda sucks”. We took this to heart, and made the video with the mindset that consumers already know how great electric vehicles are, they just can’t find the leases they’re looking for in one place.

With this in mind we designed the animations to reflect the forward-thinking attitude Wevee has, that simplicity comes first. From the use of custom-designed emoticon assets to animations developed alongside the script, we developed the video to be as efficient, engaging and informative as possible (on the viewer’s end).

Behind the scenes, we took the best aspects from Shopify’s visual design and Apples slick transitions and combined them with the beautiful Wevee branding to seamlessly blend real-world imagery (the cars) with the digital space.

Whilst these animations may look seamless, stylish and simple, our animation team worked night and day to deliver a wonderfully creative video with complex animations in time for their crowdfunding launch. Without a hitch, we got back to them with the final video far before launch and Wevee doubled their crowdfunding target, reaching over £1.5 million!
